Ghana: DCL wins first fun medical partner games

DCL Laboratory Products Limited came out on top in the fun games organized in conjunction with Zutron Pharmaceutical Products Limited for its medical partners at Madina AstroTurf in Accra last Saturday.

The games, the first of their kind, also featured a free medical screening exercise for residents of Madina in the La Nkwantanang municipal district of the Greater Accra region.

It was themed “Defending Underserved Communities; The Role of the Health Worker”, and aimed to give back to society and promote connections with partners.

Ms Augustina Appertey, HR and Compliance Manager at DCL, said the fun games and free medical screening were part of the company’s social responsibility program and added that it would be a feature annual.

Some of the first edition partners include University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC), Trust Hospital, International Maritime Hospital (IMaH), University of Ghana Hospital, West African Center for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), Ga East Municipal Hospital, Top Herbal Clinic and Clarity Eye Clinic.

She said free medical screening had been provided to more than 300 people who had no access to healthcare in the community.

Beneficiaries underwent eye screening, malaria, typhoid, hepatitis B and glucose screening, especially for elderly people prone to diabetes.

She added that those diagnosed with serious health conditions were counseled and referred to hospitals for treatment.
