The first international conference of IIIT-Naya Raipur on âTechnology, research and innovation for the betterment of society (TRIBES – 2021)â was inaugurated on December 17th. The three-day conference was opened by Chief Visiting Professor Geetam Singh Tomar, IEEE Madhya Pradesh Section Chair and Director, Government Engineering College, Sonbhadra (UP). The conference takes place in hybrid mode. Several academics and researchers participated in the inaugural session in online mode, while the director, faculty members, researchers, staff and students of IIIT-NR physically registered their participation. Addressing the assembly, the Director of the IIIT-NR, Dr Pradeep Sinha, explained the genesis of the idea of ââlaunching a conference by the IIIT-NR and mentioned that it was in line with the research vision of the institute to become “a living research laboratory for agriculture, forestry and rural development”.
Dr Geetam Singh Tomar congratulated the institute for organizing the first IEEE conference in the state and presented a proposal for the establishment of the IEEE Chhattisgarh subsection and asked Dr Sinha to lead it. He ensured to provide all the basic help that would be needed to execute the idea. He also suggested that the institute set up an additional cell in which research on locally available resources could be carried out. Special guest of program professor DK Mishra, Director of Microsoft Innovation Center, Sri Aurobindo Institute of Technology, Indore, congratulated the institute and faculty members for hosting the first-ever IEEE international conference and wished good luck to all the researchers who were going to present their paper.
On this occasion, Dr Manoj Kumar Majumder gave a presentation on the conference. He informed that the acceptance rate of the presented document is 33.3%. He informed that 67 papers will be presented in 18 sessions under 54 session chairs. All esteemed faculty and staff, doctoral students, and technical assistants will coordinate the entire presentation through Cisco Webex’s parallel channels. One of the TRIBES coordinators, Dr Vivek Tiwari, expressed his gratitude to all the IEEE coordinators in different positions for supporting the conference as a flagship conference.
