Bezons, October 4, 2021 – 8:00am – RIBER, the world leader in molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) equipment serving the semiconductor industry, is announce an order for onen automatic MBE search system of a French customer.

The NanoMIR group at the University of Montpellier, a world leader in compound semiconductor materials based on antimonide, has ordered a fully automatic, multi-chamber Compact 21 DZ research MBE system. The equipment was financed by the Investments for the Future (PIA) program managed by the National Research Agency (ANR) (“HYBAT” project, ANR-21-ESRE-0026).

The system includes two chambers configured for MBE growth of compounds containing antimonides (III-Sb) and a third for plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (RP-CVD) of SiGe. To optimize process control, the system will be equipped with Riber’s new EZ-CURVE system.® instrument, a metrology tool allowing real-time in-situ precision control and characterization of the MBE growth process. This multi-chamber system will be applied to the development of new III-V infrared photonic materials deposited on silicon wafers and new quantum structures, areas of strategic interest across Europe.

Professor Eric Tournié, MBE group leader at the University of Montpellier, explained: “The new Compact 21 DZ cluster to deploy themselves & to reinforce our existing Riber MBE 412 and Compact 21 cluster aptitude To to augment the range of possibilities that we can explore in our research & development on Mid-to-THElong wave length IR and quantum devices. Our existing Riber MBE facilities have summer exceptionally stabthe and reproduceible more the short & long term; this is a prerequisites for growing up the complex III-Sb structure necessary for our work. We already know the New EZ-CURVE® tool who we know go extend our reach in precision and perfection as we strive to develop more and more demanding equipments.

Philippe LEY, Chairman of the Management Board of Riber, declared: “This new order consolidated Riber‘s already unequivocal position as a global market leader in the supply of MBE equipment for optoelectronic equipments container antimonide. “

Riber’s Compact 21 R&D product line is the most versatile on the market and the most comprehensive with benchmark standards for III-V, II-VI, nitride and oxide materials.

On the University of Montpellier and NanoMIR group

NanoMIR is a research group of the Institute of Electronics and Systems, a research laboratory of the University of Montpellier cooperative with the CNRS (UMR 5214). NanoMIR is a world leader in III-Sb technology, that is to say the family of III-V compounds based on GaSb, InAs, AlSb, InSb, their alloys and their heterostructures. It aims to develop this technology and its applications. Over the past ten years, nanoMIR has mainly focused on the development of mid-IR optoelectronic devices (lasers and photodetectors) for these applications. The group has achieved many important milestones in its field, as evidenced by its impressive record of publications.

RIBER is the world market leader in MBE – molecular beam epitaxy equipment. It designs and manufactures MBE systems and evaporators for the semiconductor industry. It also provides technical and scientific support to its customers, ensuring the maintenance of their equipment and optimizing their performance and efficiency levels. Thanks to its high-tech equipment, RIBER plays an essential role in the development of advanced semiconductor systems that are used in many consumer applications, from information technology to 5G telecommunications networks, including OLED displays. and new generation solar cells.
RIBER is an innovative company with the BPI France label and listed on the Euronext Growth Paris market (ISIN: FR0000075954).
